What do people say about SAFCA

Feedback from actual parents whose children are involved with SAFCA

"My son has been involved with the SAFCA training centre since he was 5 ( now 7 ). The court style football training and drills has added a different dimension to his normal grasses based club training, helping with his speed and first touch.. The Training, Coaches, Holiday Programmes aside one important thing I can see my son takes from the Centre is the ability to interact and train with kids older faster and more skilful than he, this has given him older role models, supportive friends and a real perspective on what is actually possible through training.. ( schooling 10 year olds is his focus in life..)" Cheers: Darren

"We signed our son with SAFCA with a little trepidation. Our fears and concerns were immediately dismissed within the first week of our son joining. What a fantastic bunch of coaching staff who are dedicated, professional and very knowledgeable on all aspects of this sport. It is indeed a pleasure to be associated with such a brilliant organisation. Keep up the good work! "   Kevin and FIona

"I am writing to say my two boys Brad and Riley aged 8 - 6 years are very much enjoying their soccer training with Matt. They have learned skills that haven't been shown to them before now and thriving on this. This is giving them more confidence in their game and have noticed a difference in there playing ability and enjoyment.

I believe this opportunity to have such an experienced coach in our area is most valued to any young boy or girl who enjoys their football and wants to continue to learn plus enjoy the team comradeship.

Matt has a wonderful way with the children incorporating fun in his coaching. I highly recommended SAFCA. "

Cheers Julie

"What SAFCA has done for our child is given him a better sense of self on the football field and off. Matt and the SAFCA team encourage and support him to the point that he feels with enough dedication he can accomplish anything. His skills are sharper and he has found his niche within his 9th Grade club team as their keeper. He is flourishing within that role and feels he is a valuable member of his team. Often on a Tuesday he is eager to report the previous game replay to Matt, Colin or any of the coaching staff.

Furthermore the respect that comes not just from the coaching staff but also the fellow students is Matt's greatest legacy within SAFCA, anyone can teach a child to juggle a ball with enough time and effort but to teach kids how to respect and acknowledge each other as individuals and valued peers is beyond worth. "SAFCA is the best thing we ever did for James. He absolutely loves it. It's such a positive, uplifting, friendly environment and he has learnt heaps in the nearly two years that he has been part of the SAFCA family. The opportunities he has had and will have are just endless!! The coaching team are such great role models. James knows that the sky is the limit with his football thanks to Matt and the team. Also one of the most proudest days for James was the day Matt presented him with his first academy strip with his name on the back - this had been a dream of James' for a long time. Thank you SAFCA, the football passion is definitely alive and kicking in South Auckland!!       Lynn

"My nine year old son enjoys his time at SAFCA.He wouldnt trade his trainning days for anything. He loves being part of SAFAC team.I saw a real improvement in my son's soccer abilities just after 2 weeks .It is a pleasure to meet SAFAC FAMILY whose purpose is to discipline better soccer players and set a goal as high as we hope to achieve in the future. Players do something different every day of the week, including juggling and doing drills .The children are encouraged to perform their best with exceptional skills and guidance from coaches.Highly recommended"  J Naidu

"Ryan joined the SAFCA Goal keeping school in the middle of 2010, on a recommendation from his club coach due to Ryan’s natural ability at goal keeping. However, Ryan was also struggling a little to foot it with his other team members in his 7th grade division one team. This year, and now 8 years old, and thanks to the ‘added value’ SAFCA training, Ryan is a new force on the field, and has made incredible improvement all round in his club games. That aside, Ryan, through SAFCA, has had the opportunity to partake as goalkeeper, in an under 10’s tournament (whilst still 7 y.o.), a 10th grade tournament (at age 8), and a 13th grade friendly. Future calendar events include goalkeeping for the SAFCA ‘8 and under team’ in the upcoming "SAFCA Cup’ and in SAFCA’s ‘10 and under team’ at a tournament in Hamilton. Also, he had the fun of being a mascot for in an international between Auckland City and Vanuatu. The great thing is when Ryan is practising at SAFCA, he really doesn’t care whether I’m there or not …he’s having too much fun!! Fantastic! "    Derek

What the kids say

"Hi, I'm Ryan. SAFCA is SO awesome because it has let me meet Ivan Vicelich, and I have played in a 10th grade tournament. I'm learning way more skills than I would in a normal club team. Practising my goal keeping skills with Chris we do stuff like diving on the ball, and sliding on the ground to get the ball. I've improved so much I might get the most improved player award for my club team. I'm only 8 and i"ve played in a 13th grade game! "   Ryan(8 yo)

"The coaches at SAFCA make training a fun way to learn to be a better soccer player. When we are taught new skills, it is really fun to put this into practise when we play a game at the end of each training. We are like a big family. "          Mitchell(11 yo)

"To Coaches Matt & Mark

We finally learned
What life is all about...

... The secret of success
Comes hard....no doubt!

We trained, we sweated
We ached, we cried...

And found out we got better
Each time we tried!

We were pushed, yelled at
Preached at, too....

But the more that this happened,
the more that we grew!

"You can be anything
you want to be!"

This voice kept shouting out to us.

Yet who can we blame for such a daring approach?

That General....
That Counselor....
That Friend I call MY COACH!"         Nethan(15 yo)
